Welcome to the Casa Cuauhtémoc Website. Casa Cuauhtémoc is a dormitory located on
the campus of the University of California, Davis and is designed for all students
who want to gain a better understanding of the Chicano/Latino culture. For more
information about Casa Cuauhtémoc contact the UC Davis Student Housing Office at
(530) 752-2033.
This site is designed for students, parents, and anyone with an interest in either
Casa Cuauhtémoc or the Chicano/Latino Culture. The purpose of this site is to make
people more aware of Casa Cuauhtémoc. There is not much information about the
dormitory, with the exception of a flyer that was printed by the UC Davis Student
Housing Office in 1997, which is probably the same flyer they are printing and
distributing today. Click here to read this flyer.
Besides the flyer, there is very limited information to be found about Casa
Cuauhtémoc. Enjoy the page!!
Casa Cuauhtémoc is located on Old Dairy Road in a group of 6 dormitories named
Tercero. Tercero is broken into three groups: Thille, Pierce, and Leach. Thille
and Pierce both consist of 6 dormitories with predominantly first year students.
Leach has its own section and is designed for returning students. Casa Cuauhtémoc is
housed in Thille, building A.
Living inside of Casa Cuauhtémoc is one Resident Director, two Resident Advisors, and
approxamately 60 students. The Resident Director lives in an apartment on the first
floor of the building. The RD is responsible the students living in all six of the
buildings in Thille. There are two Resident Advisors, who are students themselves,
that live among the students. There is one female RA, who lives on the third floor,
and one male RA, who lives on the second floor. The students share one room with a
roommate. There are three suites, one on each floor, that have four students
housed in 3 rooms.
Casa Cuauhtémoc holds different activities throughout the academic year to help
students who attend become more aware of the Chicano/Latino culture. These
activities are organized and planned by the Cultural Programmer. These activities
often consist of a speaker who discusses different issues or events in the relaxed
atmosphere of Casa Cuauhtémoc's Lounge.
